Ingredients
- 1 cup penne, whole-wheat
- 1 cup minced beef
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 onion, red, chopped
- 1 carrot, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp parmesan cheese, grated

Directions
Heat the olive oil in a large non-stick pan and sauté the onions with the carrots for 2-3 minutes. Add the beef and sauté for 2 more minutes, then add the garlic and season with salt and pepper. Stir and let the flavors combine for another minute.
- Add the tomato sauce and the broth. Bring to a gentle simmer and add the pasta. Cook until the pasta is tender, adding a bit of water if needed.
- Serve warm, sprinkled with parmesan cheese.
